Description/Blazon
A device of silver color metal and enamel 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a black enamel field bearing at center a blue torch issuing silver rays from a silver, intertwined, continuous ribbon, all enclosed by a continuous blue motto scroll, turned at either side and bearing in silver letters the words, "QUALITY" "PRIDE" and "SUCCESS" at left, top and right respectively.

Symbolism
Oriental blue and silver gray are the colors used for the Army Intelligence and Security Branch. The torch is symbolic of the illumination provided by the collection and dissemination of intelligence data; the black background suggests secrecy and stealth. The ribbonlike symbol, in place of a flame, folds back on itself and is representative of the counterintelligence mission.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 16 February 1979.

The coat of arms was approved on 29 June 1988. It was amended to remove the crest, to which the unit was not entitled, on 14 October 1996.
